1. Delete your account in the app
You can delete your Growly account from inside the app:
- Open Growly.
- Go to Settings.
- Open Account & Support.
- Choose Delete account.
- Confirm Delete account in the confirmation alert.
The app explains that deletion permanently deletes your Growly account and backend data, clears this device's saved Growly account data, and signs you out. This action cannot be undone.
2. What gets deleted
When the in-app deletion succeeds, Growly's backend deletion flow deletes account-backed records associated with your authenticated Firebase user ID, including:
- your Firebase Authentication user;
- your
users/{uid}profile document; - child profile documents linked to your user ID;
- your
journeys/{uid}journey checkpoint; - reflection documents linked to your user ID;
- retrieval budget records linked to your user ID.
After backend deletion, the app also clears certain local account-scoped Growly data on the device, including saved account namespace state and journey state for the deleted account.
3. What may remain temporarily
Some information may remain temporarily or outside Growly's direct account deletion flow, including:
- local data on devices where the app is offline, uninstalled, or not opened after deletion;
- aggregated analytics or diagnostic records that are not stored as raw account content;
- provider logs, backups, or security records retained for limited operational or legal reasons;
- Apple App Store, Google Play, or RevenueCat purchase and subscription records needed for billing, refund, tax, fraud prevention, and entitlement history.
4. Subscriptions are not canceled by account deletion
Important: deleting your Growly account does not automatically cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription.
To stop future billing, cancel the subscription through the store account that manages the purchase:
- iOS: open Apple App Store subscription settings for your Apple ID.
- Android, when available: open Google Play subscription settings for the Google account used to purchase.
If you delete your account but keep an active subscription, the store may continue billing until you cancel through Apple or Google.
5. Processing timeline
In-app deletion is designed to run immediately when you are signed in and the backend is available. If deletion fails, the app keeps you signed in and tells you to try again. Nothing is removed locally after a failed backend deletion.
If you contact support for help deleting an account, we will respond as soon as reasonably possible. We may need to verify that the request is connected to your Growly account before taking action.
6. If you cannot access the app
If you cannot access Growly or cannot complete the in-app deletion flow, email support@getgrowly.io from the email address associated with your Apple or Google sign-in if possible. Include that you want to delete your Growly account. Do not include sensitive reflection details in the email.
